Team numbers were back up after last year, with real competition for all four prizes. Once again however certain runners had not taken the precaution of finding out what the route was in advance and therefore added a few extra yards to their run as a result, but at least no-one had to have a 15 second penalty for cutting corners like last year. It was a good year for the Geography Dept., who took the mixed and ladies prizes. The on the day entry from Engineering won the open prize, with the `Age/Gender' corrected prize going to the mathemeticians, who may have cracked how to beat the formula - although they were only 2 seconds ahead of the physics technicians team `SPACtech'. Thanks to everyone for coming to support this Lancaster tradition. Next year is the 25th! Maybe my knee will have recovered enough by then for me to run again. Thanks as usual to all the helpers on the day for keeping the traffic at bay: Gareth H, Gareth E, Barbara, Tim and Rob. Also the volunteer flag collectors Mike and Graham.
